Ground Systems Support Engineer - Level 4

Description As a ground systems support engineer, this person will be part of an integral technical interface team, supporting the on‑site Customer, resolving complex issues arising from operations and / or maintenance activities. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems, and information technology related responsibilities including design, development, and analysis of computer systems or programs based on and related to user or system design specifications; applying systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Provide on‑site installation and familiarization training at operational locations. Troubleshoot installation and operational issues and assist Ground Systems end‑users in the utilization of Ground Systems software and hardware. Support site surveys and site standups for new operational locations. Support and collaborate with customers for requested systems enhancements. Provides technical direction for mission support, plans for critical systems malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Provides failure analysis of the performance of the communications systems and associated via telemetry data. Must be willing to travel to austere/remote locations for 60‑120 days per year. Must be willing to work off cycle hours and weekends. Basic Qualifications Experience operating / maintaining Support Equipment Experience with troubleshooting networks and computers Active Top Secret clearance with Investigation Date within 5 years Desired Skills Computer system administration experience Network Administration experience Cost, Schedule and Quality management supporting MRO activities Technical report writing Knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support concepts Network Installation Engineering Technician Linux/UNIX administration Operations Engineering UAV Technology Backup & Recovery Operations Engineering Avionics Support Security+ Certification Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level Top Secret Schedule 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
