Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract role serving middle and high school students with diverse learning needs in a cross-categorical special education setting. This opportunity provides the unique chance to work with adolescent learners who have a wide range of mild-to-moderate disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and autism. One position will be dedicated to supporting grades 6-8 in a middle school environment, and another will focus on high school students. Service is delivered in a collaborative, inclusive setting designed to support growth, skill development, and positive outcomes for every student, regardless of specific diagnosis.

Qualifications:

• Valid Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education certification (License #2801) is required
• Strong experience supporting students with autism
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students with a range of mild-to-moderate learning and behavioral needs
• Experience in individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teaching teams, service providers, and families
• Flexibility and problem-solving skills to adapt instruction and approaches for varied learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support within cross-categorical classrooms (middle or high school, depending on assignment)
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs based on student strengths and needs
• Adapt curriculum and materials to address diverse learning profiles
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate that encourages student engagement and growth
• Maintain accurate records and ongoing progress documentation
• Communicate regularly with families and participate in team meetings
