As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Totowa, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.25 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a financial institution by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorization, and entry requirements in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and access-related records and communicate access concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents, access control alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, the business, and perimeter to help identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of law enforcement experience, two years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or three years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Possess a state, county, or city-issued security-related license, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
