CNC Centerless Grinder Machinist – 1st Shift

Pay: $24.00 – $32.00+ per hour (DOE)

Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Shift: 1st Shift

Location: Maple Grove, MN

Schedule

Monday – Thursday: 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Overtime is occasionally available on Fridays from 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM but is not required.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Centerless Grinder Machinist to join a precision machining team producing high-tolerance components for a variety of industries. This role is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC grinding equipment while ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.

The majority of this position will focus on machine operation, with setup responsibilities serving as a secondary function. Candidates with strong CNC setup experience from other machining environments may also be considered if they are interested in transitioning into a grinding department.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC centerless grinding equipment and related grinding machinery
• Monitor production runs and make machine adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
• Edit or modify CNC machine programs as needed to meet production requirements
• Perform tooling changes, machine setups, and fixture adjustments
• Inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Maintain accurate production, inspection, and machine setup records
• Troubleshoot machining issues and identify opportunities for process improvement
• Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of CNC grinding experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience operating centerless grinders strongly preferred
• CNC setup experience may be considered for candidates interested in transitioning into grinding operations
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and machining fundamentals
• Experience using precision measuring instruments
• Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Highly Desired Experience

• CNC OD (Outside Diameter) grinding experience is highly valued
• Experienced CNC OD grinders may be considered above the posted pay range based on qualifications and experience
