Pathway Gap Resource and Training Manager

$76.72k - $115.07k

New Visions for Public Schools

About the Team and the Program The Pathway Gap Resource & Training Manager works within the Department of Community Engagement and Postsecondary Pathways (CEPP) at New Visions for Public Schools. Our vision is that every young person in New York City can clearly see, navigate, and access best-fit career pathways, supported by shared civic infrastructure that helps adults advising them guide the way. Summary Reporting to the Associate Director of Pathway Gap, the Resource Manager plays a key role in designing and sustaining the practitioner-facing infrastructure at the heart of the Pathway Gap Initiative—a cross‑sector collaboration of more than 75 organizations aimed at addressing systemic challenges for youth‑serving professionals. About the Role The resource manager is the operational partner for the project’s practitioner capacity‑building work. They hold primary responsibility for the educator navigational compass tool and act as a bridge between program expertise and digital product development, partnering with New Visions’ technical team to create and improve open‑access websites for youth‑serving professionals. Core Responsibilities Curating resources and providing guidance on how to use them. Developing implementation trainings. Managing user communications and feedback. Ensuring the tool stays accessible and continuously improves for practitioners. Tool development: engage with practitioners to gather, synthesize, and translate programmatic needs, user feedback, and committee input related to the Resource Hub features, training, and educator workflows into clear, functional, and well‑documented requirements for new tool features or updates, in partnership with the project lead and the technology team. Content Curation and Quality Control: lead the ongoing identification, review, and addition of resources to the tool, applying quality standards developed in partnership with the Quality and Standards Committee to ensure all materials are accurate, relevant, and appropriately matched to practitioner needs; and ensure the development of clear contextual guidance for use. Content expertise and landscape familiarity: stay abreast of trends in the career advising and pathways navigation field, including familiarity with NYCPS and other frameworks for postsecondary advisement and career readiness, interest in and understanding of how AI is shifting and shaping career navigation and career choice, and research into young people’s views on career and postsecondary advisement. Practitioner Training & Tool Adoption: design and develop a suite of training materials and resources to support practitioner adoption of the toolkit, including technical orientation (how to navigate the site and use its features), applied professional development (how to use tool resources in direct work with students), and practitioner experience (surfacing what’s working in the field, what gaps exist, and what resources practitioners find most useful). Plan and facilitate trainings for practitioners—encompassing school‑based counselors, CBOs, and direct service organizations serving out‑of‑school youth—adapting content and format for different audiences, contexts, and levels of experience. Field Support and Feedback: serve as the primary point of contact for practitioner users, managing the help desk, coordinating the development of user support resources, and maintaining a structured process for gathering feedback and user experience. Synthesize and translate that feedback to improve content, ensure that tool development priorities remain grounded in practitioner experience, and use it to inform reporting to the Associate Director of Pathway Gap and funders. Communications & Engagement: drive user adoption metrics through targeted outreach and feedback loops; and manage the production of newsletters and other content for external communications, working in close collaboration with the New Visions marketing team and Pathway Gap coordinating team. Coalition Governance Support: committee mobilization: partner with the project lead to manage the operations of the cross‑organizational Quality and Standards Committee, including leading relevant monthly subcommittees and supporting the planning and execution of three annual in‑person convenings. Stakeholder Integration: ensure that key stakeholders—youth, school‑based practitioners, CBO staff, and intermediaries—are consistently centered in content and design decisions, through both the Quality and Standards Committee and through ongoing engagement and feedback processes. Required Education and Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent blending of academic and applied experience. Professional Experience: 4–6 years of progressive professional experience centered within NYC education support, workforce development, youth‑serving nonprofits, or related sectors. Direct experience counseling youth around career pathways or training a practitioner professional audience in these approaches is preferred. Facilitation & Training Track Record: documented experience developing and leading professional development or training sessions, particularly for adult learners or frontline practitioners. Agility in Developing Systems: proven track record of navigating early‑stage programmatic ambiguity and developing systems to support sustainability and scale, including experience adopting, piloting, or embedding technological enhancements to streamline operations and demonstrating resilience and adaptability when implementing new systems. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) Stakeholder Engagement, Relationship Management, and Collaboration: skilled at working across teams and a range of diverse stakeholders—program, technology, and marketing colleagues, as well as practitioners, youth, community leaders, and organizational partners—to build trust, align on priorities, and coordinate deliverables. Technological Tool Development: ability to translate practitioner perspective into product development processes. No software development or design skills required, but candidates should have a demonstrated interest in how digital tools can serve users. Other relevant skills include program design and management, user research, iterative design, and project management inclusive of working with non‑programmatic teams and stakeholders to translate vision to execution through managing competing timelines and constraints. Equity Orientation: deep commitment to centering the needs of young people—especially those from non‑traditional pathways—and to building tools that meet frontline practitioners where they are. Physical Requirements The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Ability to travel to sites (NYC public schools and partner organizations) across the 5 boroughs, multiple days per month. Must be able to ascend/descend stairs occasionally to access different floor levels within the office or in client buildings. Ability to traverse an office environment to attend meetings and interact with colleagues. Ability to operate a computer and other relevant technology, such as phones, screens, printers, and tablets. Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, as is common in office settings. Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to carry up to 10 pounds (such as for a laptop and carrying case). Disclaimer The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee in this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of a person in this position. Salary Information Pay Range: $76,715—$115,074 USD Equal Employment Opportunity Statement New Visions believes that our teams are most effective when they include representation from the diverse communities we serve, as their perspectives are critical to the work we do. Diversity, equity, and inclusion do not determine who gets hired—that is based on qualifications. They ensure that people who have traditionally had less access to opportunities are considered and, once chosen, feel supported and valued as part of our team. New Visions provides a comprehensive and competitive compensation and benefits package in addition to the opportunity to make a significant impact on education reform and in the lives of urban youth. #J-18808-Ljbffr New Visions for Public Schools
