Contract Attorney - Financial Transactions Specialist

Our client is a major financial enterprise dedicated to supporting housing markets and promoting sustainable homeownership nationwide. The contract attorney role involves supporting a broad range of financing, acquisition, and other strategic transactions with a focus on transactional review, negotiation assistance, and transaction documentation management. This is a full-time, contract position in McLean, Virginia, paying $80–$85 per hour. Responsibilities Assisting with the review, drafting, negotiation, and execution of amendments, consents, and other transaction-related documents Supporting financing, acquisition, servicing, and other strategic transactions throughout the transaction lifecycle Reviewing transaction documents and helping identify legal and business issues for escalation to lead counsel Assisting with due diligence, document organization, closing coordination, and post-closing activities Managing and maintaining transaction records, databases, and document repositories to ensure accurate tracking and retention of transactional materials Supporting legal and operational projects designed to improve transaction management processes and document administration Collaborating with attorneys, business partners, and external counsel to facilitate efficient transaction execution Conducting legal research and preparing summaries, memoranda, and other supporting materials as needed Qualifications JD and active bar membership in good standing 3+ years of transactional experience at a law firm, financial institution, or in-house legal department Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating transactional documents, including loan and security agreements, amendments, and ancillary agreements General experience in one or more of the following areas: commercial transactions, finance, corporate, real estate, lending, or servicing Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills What We Offer 401K retirement plan Medical and dental benefits for qualifying professionals Flex spending account Pet Insurance Credit Union Membership Sick Leave available where mandated by law Worker Advantage discount program membership Voluntary Supplemental Insurance Our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy: Employment Enterprises, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
