The Accounting Manager will also manage a team of engaged and productive individuals; previous leadership and talent development experience will put you ahead. This role will also partner with business and capability leaders to support accounting excellence through current processes and drive process improvements.A successful candidate must be self-directed and able to manage multiple projects. Our Team: The Accounting Manager reports to the GP Recycling Controller. The GP Recycling team is currently comprised of ~30 individuals (including 4 supervisors). GP Recycling is one of the largest pure traders of recycled fiber in the world, trading in excess of 100,000 tons per week.What You Will Do In Your RoleIn this Key role for the Organization, overall responsibilities will include:Build strong personal and team relationships through managing a team of 5-7 employeesPartner with employees, peers and business to review current processes for improvement/efficiencies and new business for system fit and best process; would involve leading projects and being involved in projects led by othersSupport business and financial planning and analysis team through transactional excellence and decision-making processes by building strong relationships to better understand and anticipate business needsSupport internal financial control environment (review current processes, identify gaps/improvement areas, develop plans as needed)Provide accounting and financial reporting oversight and supervision to team membersReview and approve balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring account balances are correct and adequately supportedAdvance the Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture by applying and reinforcing the company’s Guiding PrinciplesWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Career Experience: In an Accounting or Finance focused role(s) that demonstrates a working knowledge of financial accounting principles, the general ledger, intercompany entries, month end close, account reconciliation and analysis, and internal financial controlsLeadership: Experience leading a team or developing capability in others; you connect people to a larger vision and strategy and keep them motivated and engagedCollaboration/Contribution mindset: You seek to build working relationships and partner with others to bridge gaps and solve problems Transformation focused: You are flexible and able to prioritize your work in a dynamic environment, embrace change, and improve processesConfident Communicator: You can engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders via telephone, email, chat, and video calls - you are comfortable being seen and heardSystems and Tools savvy: You have experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and a desire to learn multiple accounting systems and toolsWhat Will Put You AheadBachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or BusinessExperience with integrated financial systems (INFOR M3 or Infinium preferred)Experience with analysis and data visualization tools (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, OneStream, etc.)Developing solid process documentation, SOP's, and promoting best practicesSystem implementation, system upgrade, testing and/or reconciling transactions between multiple systemsAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
