Accounting Manager

A growing Houston-based manufacturing organization is adding an Accounting Manager to its accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a smaller, hands-on environment and wants to play a meaningful role in a growing organization. The company is expanding its finance team and is looking for sharp, experienced accounting professionals with current SAP experience and a strong manufacturing background. What You'll Do Oversee accounting activities for a manufacturing operation and provide financial support to leadership. Manage accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities. Partner with finance and operational leadership to analyze financial performance and support business decisions. Oversee and develop accounting staff, including a Cost Accountant. Assist with cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing-related financial analysis. Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and accounting records. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls. Utilize SAP for day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities. Work cross-functionally with operations and other departments to support the business. Provide occasional support at manufacturing plant locations as needed. What We're Looking For 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Current, hands-on SAP experience is required . Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred. Chemical manufacturing experience is highly desirable. Strong understanding of general accounting and financial reporting. Experience with month-end close and financial analysis. Experience with cost accounting and/or inventory accounting is a plus. Previous experience supervising or managing accounting personnel preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment. Able to work independently while partnering effectively with senior leadership. Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
