JOB SUMMARY

The Security Officer is responsible to positively impact the safety and security of the company assets to include guests and Team Members while maintaining guest satisfaction and support the casino core values. The position will demonstrate excitement and provide World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality and Charm while enforcing the Responsible Gaming Plan as well as adherence to Internal Control Procedures. Pay Range: $26.19-$29.10/hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this class and are not all inclusive. Attends daily briefings and meetings, being on time and participating in a positive manner. Ensures smooth operation of the Security Department through following prescribed policies and procedures as well as adhering to and enforcing the Responsible Gaming Plan and complying with Internal Control Policies and Procedures. Responsible for writing reports in a clear and concise manner, noting only factual information without interjection of one’s personal opinion. Responds to all non-routine incidents, taking appropriate actions and making the proper notifications. Performs currency transports in accordance with casino procedures. Maintains a professional appearance. Communicates with other security personnel via two-way radios, using established "10-codes". Ensures quick, fair, and consistent results to customer complaints. Safeguards property assets. Responsible for First Aid situations to administer CPR. Adheres to all aspects of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program and its regulations, including, but not limited to, Title 31 Cash Transactions, Suspicious Activity Reporting and Customer Identification requirements. Ensures the integrity of gambling, banking, count room and cash handling procedures. Responsible for proper handling of confidential information, reports, incidents, and materials. Responsible for communication within the department, ensuring that information is shared with Team Members. Responsible for informing Security senior management team of information necessary to the efficient operation of the casino. Delivers Old-World Hospitality and excitement, and lives the company core values. Conducts themselves in a gracious, kind, and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as being professional, courteous, and responsive, which reflects positively on the company and its core values. Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have ability to: Regularly walk and work on feet to complete assigned shifts; talk and hear. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret a variety of technical and mathematical formulas. Interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Effectively communicate with all levels of team members as well as outside contacts. Resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. Demonstrate leadership and fairness in dealing with guests and Team Members. Instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in staff. Be flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate. Be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations, including the ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs. Push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Formal security or law enforcement training, schooling or certification is required; related on‑the‑job experience may be considered in lieu of formal training. Previous security, military, or civilian police officer training and/or experience is required. Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, instructions, and correspondence/memos; author reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, staff, guests, and the general public. Maintain confidential information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations: Attend required training sessions offered by the casino. Provide a current certificate of completion of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice (DCJS) 8‑Hour Pre‑Assignment Training. Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations. Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco. Be knowledgeable of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department. Know the property’s programs to address problem gambling. Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls. Investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management. Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member that they have knowledge of.
