Accountant 2The Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) is searching for an Accountant 2 to join their Office of Financial Management (OFM) team. This position will handle the financial activities of PSERS Hybrid Plan including the new Defined Contribution (DC) Plan investments under Act 5. This role is responsible for the preparation of journal entries, reconciliation, analysis, classification, and reporting of various investment account activities of the plan. As an Accountant 2, you will perform the following duties:Review Reports: Review reports received from Third Party AdministratorFund Transfers: Submit weekly reports for funds transferred to DCReconcile Accounts: Perform monthly reconciliations on investmentsJournal Entries: Log month-end journal entries for Hybrid Plan including Defined Contribution planQuarterly Accruals: Ensure accruals are posted correctly each quarter-endInterested in learning more? Work hours may be negotiable, including potential for 30 minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. This position is a hybrid telework eligible, dependent on operational and executive leadership requirements. Telework schedule varies based on current work activities. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as an Accountant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); orTwo years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement.
