Production Assembler

Location: Byron Center, MI

Shift: 1st Shift Monday – Friday 5:00 am - 3:30 pm; Saturday 5:00 am – 10:00 am

Pay: $18.00+per hour

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling fabricated and finished components into completed products according to customer specifications, engineering drawings, and work instructions. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, works efficiently in a team environment, and is committed to maintaining a safe and organized workspace.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Production Assembler, your core responsibilities will include:

• Assemble metal components, subassemblies, and finished products according to work instructions and engineering specifications
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, bills of materials, and production documentation
• Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and assembly equipment safely and effectively
• Verify that components meet quality standards prior to assembly
• Perform basic measurements and inspections to ensure product accuracy and functionality
• Install hardware, fasteners, brackets, and other components as required
• Package and prepare completed assemblies for shipment or additional manufacturing processes
• Identify and report quality concerns, material shortages, or equipment issues
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required
• Assist with material handling, inventory organization, and workstation setup
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Collaborate with laser, forming, welding, finishing, and fabrication teams to meet production schedules and customer requirements
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards

In addition, you may also be requested to help with manual material handling, packaging, and other production duties as needed in the warehouse to accomplish company goals and deadlines.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications/ Skill Sets:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous assembly, manufacturing, production, or fabrication experience preferred but not required
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and production documents
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach, twist, stoop, and perform repetitive motions
• Manual dexterity required to assemble parts and operate tools safely
• Visual ability to inspect components and completed assemblies for quality and accuracy
• Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment, tools, and material handling systems
• Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear
• Commitment to following all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards
