Relationship Manager

Citi's Commercial Banking division is looking for a driven and commercially minded Relationship Manager to grow and manage a portfolio of commercial clients, delivering tailored financial solutions across a network that spans markets worldwide. In this AVP-level role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, working at the intersection of business development, credit management, and cross-border advisory. Your ability to build lasting client relationships and navigate complex financial opportunities will directly shape the performance of the team and the clients we serve. Responsibilities Develop and deepen relationships with commercial banking clients by proactively identifying their evolving financial needs and delivering timely, relevant solutions that strengthen portfolio performance. Act as the primary client contact, coordinating across internal teams to resolve service issues and ensure a seamless, end-to-end client experience. Partner with product specialists and subject matter experts to structure innovative, customized financial solutions tailored to each client’s unique requirements. Identify and pursue cross-sell opportunities across Citi’s product suite to grow wallet share and deepen existing client relationships. Lead the preparation and oversight of new transaction submissions and annual credit reviews, managing the full credit origination process through to approval. Serve as a first line of defense on credit risk, actively monitoring client accounts, applying early warning detection practices, and maintaining rigorous compliance with KYC and regulatory requirements. Support senior relationship managers in prospecting new clients, structuring deals that balance risk and return, and sharing timely market intelligence to maximize client value. Required Qualifications & Skills 5 to 8 years of experience in commercial banking, relationship management, or a closely related financial services role. Solid grounding in banking, investment and cash management products, with a demonstrated ability to deliver customized solutions to commercial banking clients. Core credit competency, including experience managing the credit origination process, maintaining credit documentation, and monitoring accounts through their lifecycle. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial modelling, and financial statement analysis, applied to real client situations. Ability to identify emerging client risks early, with demonstrated early warning detection capabilities. Sharp business development instincts, with a proactive approach to uncovering new opportunities within an existing client base and a track record of closing deals. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. Beneficial Skills & Qualifications Experience working on cross-border transactions or managing clients with international operations, with an appreciation for the cultural and commercial nuances that complex global mandates require. Comfort navigating ambiguous or multi-stakeholder situations, balancing competing priorities across clients, products, and risk functions.
