Schedule: Hybrid – Onsite 2–3 days per week

About the Opportunity

\n

We are seeking an experienced Interim Controller to support a private equity-backed, organization.

\n

This individual will oversee day-to-day accounting and financial reporting while partnering closely with operational leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong controllership experience and a solid background in percentage-of-completion, project-based, or construction accounting .

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Lead day-to-day accounting and controllership activities
    • \n
  • Oversee month-end close and financial reporting
    • \n
  • Manage accounting for project-based operations
    • \n
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition and project accounting
    • \n
  • Oversee percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting
    • \n
  • Review project costs, margins, estimates and profitability
    • \n
  • Partner with operational leaders on project financial performance
    • \n
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and accounting controls
    • \n
  • Identify and resolve accounting and reporting issues
    • \n
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis as needed
    • \n
  • Assist with audit and other finance-related initiatives
    • \n
  • Provide hands-on leadership to the accounting team during the interim engagement
    • \n

Required Experience

\n
    \n
  • Controller or senior-level accounting leadership experience
    • \n
  • Strong percentage-of-completion, project accounting, or construction accounting experience
    • \n
  • Experience within a project-based services environment
    • \n
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition, job costing and cost-to-complete accounting
    • \n
  • Strong month-end close and financial reporting experience
    • \n
  • Ability to operate effectively in a hands-on interim environment
    • \n
  • Strong communication and operational partnership skills
    • \n

  • Private equity-backed company experience
    • \n
  • Experience within project-based, field services, construction, engineering, specialty services or similar environments
    • \n
  • Prior interim or consulting experience
    • \n
\n

Logistics

  • Interim consulting engagement
    • \n
  • Hybrid schedule with 2–3 days per week onsite in Northern Colorado
    • \n
