VP Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting

We are partnering with our healthcare client for a VP of Accounting and SEC Reporting. In this role, you will lead the external financial reporting and technical accounting function. Additionally, you'll provide guidance on accounting treatment for complex transactions and contracts, as well as lead key business and strategic initiatives. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $200,000 to $250,000 per year.

• Develop and mentor the existing team of technical accountants and SEC reporting experts, while also hiring new talent as needed.
  
  
• Monitor and ensure timely compliance with evolving accounting guidance, interpret US GAAP, and oversee the implementation of new accounting standards.
  
  
• Review technical accounting memorandums for significant transactions and support management and external auditors during the review process.
  
  
• Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly financial statements, including the statement of cash flows.
  
  
• Maintain an internal reporting calendar and communicate deadlines effectively to stakeholders.
  
  
• Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements.
  
  

• Demonstrated expertise in researching and documenting accounting guidance and treatment of accounting issues.
  
  
• Leadership experience in project organization, planning, and execution across internal and external reporting lines.
  
  
• Strong relationship management and communication skills at all organizational levels.

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  
  
• 15+ years of technical accounting and reporting experience, preferably with Big 4 experience.
  
  
• CPA or equivalent qualification.
