RN Clinical - 4 S ICU - Full Time 12 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Union)

Overview As an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to patients. The role involves coordinating patient care and education in a compassionate, supportive, and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities Complete Nursing Assessment upon admission, each shift, and with changes of condition; prepare patient acuity reports daily. Interpret assessment data and formulate Nursing Diagnoses. Develop and revise Plans of Care with individualized interventions and documented outcomes. Administer medication and IV therapy at prescribed intervals; complete patient care procedures per policy. Delegate tasks appropriately based on scope of practice and competency. Act as patient advocate, managing restraint use per policy and preferring non‑restraint measures. Ensure complete and accurate documentation on flow sheets, charts, and specialized forms (Pain scale, Restraint, Diabetes, etc.). Provide patient/family education (room/unit orientation, Care Plan, education materials). Collaborate with Case Manager, physicians, and other professionals on discharge planning and transfer paperwork. Utilize patient care equipment safely (IV pump, feeding pump, PCA pump, etc.). Communicate effectively in shift reports, physician rounds, hand‑off reports, and facility e‑mail. Manage time effectively, prioritize responsibilities, and complete shifts on schedule. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements (Patient Safety Goals, HIPAA, OSHA, JCAHO, etc.). In intensive care, step‑down, dialysis, psychiatric, and surgical units, apply specific clinical practices, including advanced therapeutic modalities and safety procedures. Participate in quality measures, professional development, and hospital initiatives. Perform any related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications BSN or graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. Minimum of 1year acute inpatient hospital experience as RN. Excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of medical procedures and the ability to perform duties such as whole blood collection and apheresis. Commitment to excellence in patient care and customer service. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Registered Nurse (CA Board of Registered Nursing). Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required within 30 days of hire if not already held. Additional specialty certifications are considered a plus. Pay & Hours Hourly rate range: $44.00 – $95.00.
