Intellectual Property Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking an Intellectual Property Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience to join a growing, full-spectrum IP practice serving clients across cutting-edge industries, including manufacturing, health care, and emerging AI-related technologies.

This is an especially compelling opportunity for an IP attorney who wants real ownership of matters and direct client contact from day one . The role spans patent prosecution, patent litigation, and strategic IP counseling, offering the opportunity to develop a truly comprehensive IP practice rather than being limited to a single area.

Qualifications:

• 3-6 years of intellectual property experience

• Strong patent litigation experience required

• Registered to practice before the USPTO

• Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or a comparable technical field

• Experience with patent prosecution preferred

• Strong experience with federal patent litigation and/or PTAB proceedings

• Excellent legal writing and oral communication skills

• Strong work ethic, creativity, maturity, and attention to detail

• Tennessee Bar admission required , or ability to sit for the Tennessee Bar and obtain admission promptly
