Director of Finance & Operations

A private investment firm focused on direct investments in smaller businesses is seeking an experienced finance and operations professional to join its team on a part-time basis. You will work directly with senior leadership, operate with a high degree of autonomy, and serve as a key resource for the firm's day-to-day financial and operational functions.Responsibilities:Manage company accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly bank reconciliationsManage payroll processing and related recordkeepingCoordinate with outside vendors and service providers, including HR and benefits providers, insurance carriers, tax accountants, and legal counselMaintain organized, audit-ready financial records that meet institutional standardsSupport investor financial reporting and respond to investor-related inquiries in coordination with third-party administratorsManage expense reimbursements and provide light administrative and operational support to senior leadershipWhat We Are Looking For10+ years of accounting experience, ideally within private funds, investment management, financial services, family offices, xhyhwjd or a similar environmentProficiency in QuickBooksStrong knowledge of AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and payrollExceptional attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential financial informationAbility to take ownership and work independently with minimal supervisionBased in the greater Fairfield County area and able to work a hybrid schedulePrior experience working with regulated investment structures is a plus, but not required
