IAM Federation Services (Okta) Engineer

AbbVie seeks an IAM Federation Services Engineer to design, implement, and manage identity and access management solutions for a global workforce of 80,000 users. The role focuses on Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and Ping Federate integration across enterprise and cloud systems.

Responsibilities

Design and implement federation identity solutions aligned with business requirements and standards
Integrate federation technologies with Active Directory, HR systems, and cloud applications
Develop custom authentication experiences using Okta APIs, SDKs, and login flows
Troubleshoot and resolve federation authentication issues including user provisioning challenges
Monitor, optimize, and ensure scalability of federation infrastructure for large-scale environments

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience or Master's degree with 4 years experience
Minimum 4 years hands-on experience with Okta and Ping Federate
Advanced PowerShell scripting proficiency for identity system automation
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in federation authentication environments
Okta Identity Engine (OIE) experience for CIAM workflows and SSO implementations
Knowledge of SAML 2.0, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0 standards
Experience with MFA technologies including PingID, Okta Verify, and FIDO2
