We are seeking collaborative, relentless problem solvers that share our passion for defining the future of genetic medicines together.THE ROLEWe are seeking a Senior Research Associate, Histology contractor to join the Platform Group at Mirai Bio to support laboratory research activities towards development of novel technologies enabling next generation genomic medicines. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the technical and equipment needs in a lab as well as significant hands-on experience with standard histology, cell culturing and in vitro cell biology techniques. They will work independently and as part of a collaborative team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerforming laboratory assays and tasks including processing tissues for histology, plate-based reporter assays and additional in vitro assaysReview data slides to streamline optimization and data analysis of immune histochemistry and immuno florescence readoutsHelp manage external vendors and CRO in support of histology assaysDeveloping new assays or optimizing existing ones based on in-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques.Analyzing and accurately documenting assay results in an electronic lab notebook or other technical reporting formatsPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSBS or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related scientific disciplineBS + 5 years of relevant industry or research experienceMS + 3 years of relevant industry or research experiencePrevious experience with histology evaluation and in vitro cell based assays is requiredStrong cell culture experience, including experience executing protocols, troubleshooting assays is preferredPrior experience working with lipid nanoparticles is a plusProven ability to work independently and cross-functionally with highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technical environmentStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsMotivated, curious, and comfortable working with highly technical projects and personnelExcellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough mannerABOUT FLAGSHIP PIONEERING:Flagship Pioneering invents and builds platform companies, each with the potential for multiple products that transform human health, sustainability and beyond. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
