Description

• Evaluate patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups via standardized assessments and observational methods.
• Craft individualized treatment plans that focus on both immediate and sustained communication, cognitive, or swallowing aims.
• Deliver focused speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
• Partner with colleagues from physical therapy, nursing, occupational therapy, and medical staff to align care strategies.
• Provide essential education for patients and their families to promote progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and deliver interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Keep detailed and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
• Engage in lifelong learning by staying updated on the latest advancements in the field through continued education and collaboration with peers.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.

Certifications

• State license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be secured within 30 days of starting employment.
