Desktop Support Specialist

job summary:

We are seeking a Desktop Support to provide technical support across hardware, software, and applications, assisting local and remote users across regional facilities.

responsibilities:

• Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for users experiencing hardware, software, and application issues.
• Resolve user-reported problems using available tools while following standard support policies and procedures.
• Courteously obtain concise problem details and maintain accurate logging within the Zendesk service desk tool according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Act as a liaison between users and the broader IT team to ensure accurate problem interpretation and open communication throughout resolution.
• Escalate complex issues to IT leadership as appropriate.
• Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software while providing high-quality customer service.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of supported products and services.
• Train computer users on software and hardware systems as requested.
• Review, update, and recommend improvements to desktop support procedures and documentation.

qualifications:

3+ years of IT support / help desk experience supporting users onsite and remotely across multiple sites.

Demonstrated ability to support and install Microsoft Windows 7, 10, and 11.

Hands-on experience with Microsoft M365/O365, Exchange Online Administration, and Windows Active Directory.

Familiarity with Cloud PBX systems (e.g., RingCentral) and standard networking concepts including FTP, SMTP, VPNs, Switches, and Routers.

Strong communication skills with a proven track record of handling difficult situations and managing customer interactions effectively.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to act independently to resolve issues.

Basic knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures and policies.

CompTIA A+, Network+, or related professional certifications are preferred.

BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is a plus.

Prior experience in a 24x7 manufacturing environment is a plus.
