Overview Location: Wilmington, United States Posted on: 06/10/2026 Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search Practice Setting and Schedule Practice Setting: Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00–7:00 Day and night coverage needed Credentials and Requirements EMR: EPIC Credentialing: 90 days Requirements: Active North Carolina licensure Board certification AHA BLS and ACLS certifications Minimum 1-year Neurocritical Care experience or equivalent Job Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Order and interpret diagnostic tests Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care Document patient care accurately and thoroughly Skills Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to the specialty Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a healthcare team Education and Certifications Education requirements: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with NP specialization (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) or Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from an accredited program Licenses & Certifications: Active and unencumbered APRN license in North Carolina; national certification as an NP in a relevant specialty; active and unencumbered PA license in North Carolina; NCCPA certification Experience Most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty Travel If you reside greater than 50 miles from the facility, you are eligible for travel benefits.
