If you want to join a growing practice with a commitment to excellent patient care, a family-oriented work environment, and attractive benefits and perks, apply now!Summary of Responsibilities:To greet patients in a professional, courteous manner and obtain and document pertinent medical and ophthalmic patient history on the appropriate forms.Essential Job Functions:Provide optimum assurance of safe surgical environment. Check preoperative and PACU areas, materials and equipment for appropriate patient care.Ensures clean, safe environment through continued alertness to safety, explosive hazards and aseptic techniques.Maintain appropriate levels of office supplies and other materials to allow staff to complete assigned responsibilities and provides for patient needs by submitting approved purchase requisitions.Assists in control of traffic and personnel to ensure proper control of infection and asepsis.Transport patients for discharge.Discontinue IV catheter as directed by nurse.Assists in efficient turnover by performing patient care responsibilities in timely, efficient manner.Clean stretchers according to infection control policyRespect and understand the patient right to treatment and right to involvement in treatment decisions.Obtain vital signs for preoperative and postoperative phase. · Participate in staff education programsParticipate in Surgery Center quality improvement activities.Does not engage in gossip or other non-productive behavior as outlined in EmployeeDuties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.Ability to create a trustworthy and comfortable environment for patientsAble to get patient blood glucose as directed by nurse (CLIA competency)Able to administer eye drops as directed by surgeonAble to obtain intraocular pressure using IcareCompetency for cleaning, disinfecting and storage of lensesAbility to communicate in a calm, orderly, and non-threatening manner.Ability to work with interruptions and to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to speak, understand and write fluent EnglishAssists other staff as needed and attending required meetingsAbility to work as a team member.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Empathetic with patients' needs and concerns.Well organized with attention to detail.Treat patients with respect.Minimum Education Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent. · Medical Assistant Certification preferred.One year of experience working with electronic medical/health recordsOne year experience working in healthcare as a Medical Assistant or related area in physician practice or hospitalWhat We Offer:As an organization, one way we care for our communities and each other is by providing a comprehensive benefits package that includes:Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverageLife and AD&D coverageAvailability of short- and long-term disabilityFlexible financial benefits including FSAs and HSAs401(k) and access to retirement planningPaid holidays and vacationWho We Are:At USPI, we create relationships that create better care.
