Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist in a growth-oriented energy company Exposure to full cycle Accounts Payable processes Gain exposure to the Procurement and Accounting teams as well as our multi-state operations that stretch from Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Washington, and Hawaii You will have the opportunity to learn and grow into new areas such as SAP and Vendor Invoices Management (VIM) Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, this position will be responsible for ensuring payable transactions are processed in accordance with corporate policy, internal controls, and/or external regulatory reporting requirements The Opportunity Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist in a growth-oriented energy company Exposure to full cycle Accounts Payable processes Gain exposure to the Procurement and Accounting teams as well as our multi-state operations that stretch from Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Washington, and Hawaii You will have the opportunity to learn and grow into new areas such as SAP and Vendor Invoices Management (VIM) Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, this position will be responsible for ensuring payable transactions are processed in accordance with corporate policy, internal controls, and/or external regulatory reporting requirements Key activities include: Ensure accurate and timely entry of invoices including resolution of complex transactions through trouble shooting and root cause identification Work interactively with all P2P stakeholders (vendors, procurement, business contacts) Provide guidance and training to junior accounts payable staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment, as needed Generate and analyze accounts payable reports, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements Assist with ad-hoc finance projects and initiatives as needed Assist with month end close activities Perform account analysis and reconciliation Own the creation, distribution, and analyzes of KPIs and data requests Ensure compliance with internal controls and consistent adherence to the company’s policies and procedures Provide backup support for cash clearing activities, as needed Perform other duties as assigned Note: This description is intended to give you a general overview of the position. Qualifications To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. Additional Qualifications Include High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred Minimum 3 years of relevant AP experience or shared service experience required Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills required Ability and willingness to learn industry-specific terminology and processes required Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail required Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment required Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word; experience working with complex spreadsheets is preferred Experience with SAP, VIM Open Text, or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferred Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments required About Us At Par Pacific, we own and operate market-leading energy and infrastructure businesses in logistically complex markets.
