Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,030
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel Registered Nurse assignment
• Location: Newburgh, Indiana, near Evansville
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Weekend Rotation: Three weekends every six weeks
• Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday
• Unit: 32-bed Neuro ICU with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3
• Charting: Recent EPIC experience required; completion of a charting checkoff class may be required
• Float Expectations: May float first within the nurse’s skill set to nearby campuses with advance notice

Neuro ICU Travel Nurse Requirements

• Associate degree or nursing certificate
• Current Registered Nurse license with an active compact license
• At least 2 years of RN experience, including 1 full year of ICU experience
• At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment
• Trauma Level II experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current NIHSS certification or demonstrated NIHSS competency
• Strong neurological assessment, dysphagia screening, critical-thinking, and patient-prioritization skills
• Ability to interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs and successfully complete required telemetry testing
• Recent EPIC charting experience
• Adaptability, resilience, and a collaborative approach to patient care

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for general ICU, post-stroke, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post-code, respiratory distress, and complex neurological patients
• Care for patients requiring neurological drains, biopsies, and ventriculostomy management
• Perform detailed neurological assessments and administer dysphagia screenings
• Manage patients requiring endotracheal tubes, mechanical ventilation, and respiratory support in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Initiate and titrate sedatives, paralytics, cardiac medications, vasoactive infusions, and other critical-care therapies according to orders and protocols
• Implement sepsis protocols and provide timely, evidence-based interventions
• Interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKG findings and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment when caring for acutely ill and rapidly changing patients
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Participate in a teaching environment that may include precepting nursing students or new staff
