Role Details:

• Self-scheduling options available four weeks in advance to ensure predictability in your work hours.

• Ongoing investment in state-of-the-art equipment, including surgical instruments and patient positioning tools, to enhance your performance and ensure patient safety in the Operating Room.
• Regular interactions with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure your feedback is valued regarding patient care and surgical workflow enhancements.
• On-call duties required during specific non-business hours.

Your Responsibilities in This Role:

• Assess patients prior to surgical procedures.
• Educate patients and their families about the procedure and the peri-operative process.
• Take charge of patient preparation, which includes intravenous therapy, administering preoperative medications, and verifying surgical sites.
• Engage in surgical site verification processes, including briefings, time-outs, debriefings, and adherence to universal protocols as per hospital policy.
• Identify and respond to patient emergencies effectively.
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care while implementing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Be an essential part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, collaborating with providers, surgeons, surgical technologists, and others.
• Utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care.
• Monitor patient conditions throughout your shift, documenting any changes and the care provided thoroughly.
• Inform patients and their families/caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment options, and follow-up care.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Master's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Associate Degree in nursing.
• Circulating experience is REQUIRED!

Our facility proudly serves Rutherford County, Tennessee. With 100 beds, we provide comprehensive medical care for both adults and children, including emergency services, surgical procedures, and various other healthcare offerings. Our medical staff comprises around 500 physicians across more than 45 specialties, many of whom have offices on-site.
