Your Success Profile Who You Are As a Specialist, Payments Operations, you will help ensure money moves safely, accurately, and reliably across Justworks. You are responsible for executing critical payment workflows, but your role goes beyond following a process. You understand the work you are doing, recognize when something doesn’t look right, and use the information and tools available to investigate issues and make thoughtful decisions. What You Will Work On Execute critical payment operations accurately and on time across payment processing, funds movement, reconciliations, exceptions, and other payment workflows. Investigate and resolve payment issues, using data, payments knowledge, and sound judgment to understand what happened, determine the right next step, and own issues through resolution. Protect our customers and Justworks by following established controls, recognizing potential risks or unusual activity, and escalating issues when appropriate. Help improve how Payments Operations works by identifying recurring problems, suggesting better ways of working, and providing feedback on processes, tools, and automation. Use and adopt new tools and ways of working, including automation and AI-enabled tools, to improve accuracy and efficiency while sharing what you learn with the team. Simplicity - Be like Einstein: “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in payments operations, banking, fintech, payroll, financial operations, or another detail-oriented operational environment. Familiarity with payment processing or money movement; experience with ACH, wires, RTP, or similar payment methods is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to investigate issues, work through exceptions, and make thoughtful decisions. Comfortable working with data and learning new systems and technology, including automation and AI-enabled tools. Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of accuracy and controls when working with financial transactions. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage time-sensitive work and collaborate effectively with others. The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $36.30 to $39.93 per hour. Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
