Job SummaryUnder general supervision, the Post Closing Specialist successfully handles Investor and Portfolio loans from funding to completion. This role conducts final audit and review of mortgage loans and ensures they are shipped to the investor or servicer in the proper time frame. We champion teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and celebrate successful outcomes of others, fostering an inclusive environment of excellence and collaboration.Essential FunctionsInvestor and Portfolio Loan ProcessUtilize knowledge and expertise to properly identify type of loan and ensure loan is booked correctly and timely in the portfolio servicing system.Track, review, and prioritize the shipment of files based on SLA’s and the expiration of lock commitments.Transfer servicing rights.Ensure notes are signed and delivered to the investor custodian in a timely manner.File and ensure all notes are properly maintained in our portfolio custodian.Retrieve and follow procedures for paid-in-full notes from the proper Custodian’s.Assist in clearing of investor stipulations expeditiously.Ensure proper MERS documentation is completed throughout the process and within proper timelines.Upload documents from the title companies into the Loan Origination System (LOS).Manage payment of FHA / VA / USDA upfront mortgage insurance/guaranty fees and ensure mortgage insurance is transferred as needed.Deliver Notice of Servicing Transfer in time to reasonably assure receipt by the customer, at least fifteen calendar days before the first payment is due.Receive, manage, and distribute all final loan documents to the appropriate investor in a timely manner. Follow up with title company on any delayed trailing documents. Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure uniform quality and accuracy.Proactively find ways to improve process efficiency and/or the quality of results.Set up dashboards and workflows in Encompass and Investor Connect to meet SLA’s on investor conditionsWork as a liaison between multiple Investor account representatives and UFCU Mortgage employees on trailing documents needed.CommunicationDisplay a commitment to excellent member service and strong interpersonal skills by building and maintaining positive relationships with various customers, vendors, and team members.Display excellent communication skills and communicate effectively and professionally even under stress and tight deadlines.Follow up with key individuals immediately (within 24 hours) to resolve problems and/or respond to inquiries.Teamwork and Ongoing Self-Development Maintain knowledge of all current, applicable industry standards.Continually find opportunities for ongoing professional growth and learning.Proactively find ways to support the Mortgage Services departmental goals and work collaboratively with co-workers.Effectively manage time and resources.OtherPerforms other duties as assigned.Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulations.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesStrong knowledge of all aspects of the federal and state regulations dealing with Mortgage and Home Equity lending.Strong knowledge of portfolio servicing systems.Familiar with mortgage lending file organization and the related documentation associated with mortgage files.Well-developed ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.Basic knowledge of the mortgage process, documentation, requirements; governmental and agency requirements; and terminology. This position does not have an option for a hybrid/remote schedule. Must be bondable.Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degreeFamiliarity with current mortgage lending laws and regulations, understanding of documentation relating to residential mortgage lending and conventional financing, and/or familiarity with credit union philosophies and practices.Experience with Encompass LOS and Investor Connect.Notary Public (or ability to obtain once in the role).Physical DemandsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee, with or without accommodation, in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
