About The Opportunity A leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Job Description Accounting Manager – P&C Insurance About The Opportunity A leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations supporting its reinsurance business. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, premium accounting, accounts receivable, and month‑end/quarter‑end close activities. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end/quarter-end close Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Support GAAP and statutory financial reporting Manage reinsurance and premium accounting activities Oversee accounts receivable, cash application, and reconciliations Research and resolve accounting discrepancies Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff Partner with Finance, Underwriting, Operations, IT, and Audit teams Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred P&C insurance and/or reinsurance accounting experience strongly preferred Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting Advanced Excel skills Experience with Oracle preferred Prior management or supervisory experience preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Compensation $125,000 – $150,000 base + 10% annual incentive bonus + 3% merit increase opportunity + Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, PTO, and professional development Location New York City, NY (100% On-Site) #J-18808-Ljbffr
