Bus/Van Support Aide (Part Time)

Empower College Prep is seeking a Bus/Van Support Aide for the 2026-2027 School Year to efficiently and safely transporting students as a van driver in accordance with Empower College Prep policy and procedures.

Empower College Prep began in 2012 with a commitment to be a movement of teachers partnering with parents to transform the educational and life opportunities of their children; and to empower these children to transform their community, their country, and their world.

In 2020, we sent our first graduating class of students to college, expanded to serve grades K-2, and welcomed more than 800 students onto a new, $20 million campus on the I-17 just north of Camelback.

Essential Functions:

• Operate a Van to safely transport students under the McKinney-Vento program.
• Maintain punctuality and adhere to scheduled routes and times. Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and operational readiness of the van.
• Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle environment for all passengers.
• Comply with all traffic and safety laws and regulations.
• Provide a supportive and respectful environment for students, understanding the sensitivity of the students' situations.

Minimum qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Clean 39 Month Arizona Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong commitment to the safety and well-being of students.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.

NOTE: The District may waive or amend the above qualifications, as it deems appropriate.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
