About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel with a strong background in corporate and commercial transactions, intellectual property transactions, exempt organizations, and/or labor and employment. The successful candidate will be a corporate generalist with a commanding foundation in at least one of these core substantive areas and must have experience in in-house legal operations. The role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including advising on day-to-day legal issues, leading legal department technology vetting and adoption, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, and providing legal support to various departments. The Associate General Counsel will also be involved in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts, acting as the administrative lead for the internal enterprise risk management group, and monitoring local, state, and federal laws. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should have a JD from an accredited law school, be admitted to practice in New York State, and have at least five years of experience in a relevant legal field. The role requires excellent writing, public speaking, legal research, negotiation, analysis, communication, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of handling sensitive and confidential matters, the ability to work under pressure, and a willingness to master new areas of the law. Mastery of standard productivity software, including LLMs, is essential. The Associate General Counsel must be able to work collaboratively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
