Chaplain - Journey

Per Diem (as needed) Chaplain – North Jersey (Essex County) Compensation: $35 per hour with flexible scheduling. Responsibilities Provide non-denominational spiritual care services to patients, families, significant others, and caregivers, either directly or by coordinating with other spiritual counselors, including community clergy. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of theology required. Clinical pastoral education training: minimum 2-4 CPE credits from an accredited program preferred. Valid driver’s license and reliable, NJ-insured transportation required. Skills Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor, communicating effectively and respectfully with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisors, and the broader healthcare team. Demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm, and a willingness to collaborate constructively within a multidisciplinary team, reflecting concern for patient and employee well‑being. Interact with all staff in a positive, motivational manner supporting the organization’s mission and vision. Experience Training/Experience in grief and bereavement counseling. Minimum one year of experience providing ecumenical pastoral care and counseling to clients and families. Experience in home health or hospice preferred.
