Senior Principal Engineer, Systems Engineering

Job Overview Goodrich Corporation d/b/a Collins Aerospace is hiring a Senior Principal Engineer, Systems Engineering in Jamestown, ND. The position is a hybrid role requiring presence at the Jamestown office three days a week with the remaining two days remote within the U.S., plus 2–4 national travel engagements each year. Responsibilities Innovate, design, develop and implement technologies, components, sub‑systems, machines, tools and systems to ensure compliance with specifications, requirements and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions. Perform analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Conduct technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Evaluate alternatives considering schedule, cost, technical constraints, manage configuration process, conduct functional analysis, timeframe analysis, detailed trade studies, requirement allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Ensure logical conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions with technical, schedule, and cost constraints and perform architectural explorations. Decompose customer specifications and system‑level requirements into sub‑system and part requirements, generate verification criteria and plans. Protect novel ideas using appropriate IP processes and tools. Qualifications At least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 10years of progressive experience as a Systems Engineer or related role, or a master’s degree with 7years of experience. Minimum 3years of experience leading a team on complex airborne systems involving DO‑178, DO‑254, and DO‑160. Minimum 2years of experience with Cargo systems. Minimum 2years of experience with Polarion or equivalent ALM. Minimum 2years of experience in avionic systems certification, safety analysis and ARP‑4754. Must possess a U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent status; non‑U.S. persons will not receive work‑immigration sponsorship. Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this role is $165,214.00 to $250,000.00 USD per year, based on experience and qualifications.
