Litigation Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and consumer financial services litigation. They should demonstrate experience in executing legal strategies, taking depositions, and participating in trials, arbitrations, and hearings. Duties Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation matters. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with attention to detail. Prepare discovery requests and responses. Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations. Manage and prioritize a diverse caseload. Work closely with partners on complex litigation matters. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judges, mediators, arbitrators, and other parties involved in the litigation process. Participate in strategy discussions and case planning. Requirements Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record. Admission to the Louisiana state bar. Minimum of 3 years of experience. Experience in commercial litigation, bankruptcy, or consumer litigation preferred. Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients. Demonstrate an ability to work independently and productively. Education Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Admission to the Louisiana state bar. Skills Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organization skills. Outstanding judgment. Ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
