A respected regional law firm with a strong presence across Texas and Louisiana is seeking an experienced Toxic Tort Litigation Attorney with 7+ years of litigation experience to join its Baton Rouge office. This opportunity is open to attorneys interested in either a partnership-track role or an alternative long-term staff attorney structure.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling asbestos litigation, toxic tort defense, products liability, and industrial operations matters, including managing sophisticated exposure-related litigation from inception through trial preparation. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with national counsel, insurers, and major corporate clients on complex, high-exposure matters while serving as a key member of a collaborative litigation team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all phases of complex litigation from initial case evaluation through trial preparation
• Develop and execute strategic defense plans in exposure-related and product liability matters
• Conduct depositions, hearings, and motion practice
• Coordinate and manage large-scale discovery efforts
• Work closely with expert witnesses and consultants in scientific and technical disciplines
• Collaborate with national counsel, insurers, and corporate legal teams
• Provide strategic updates and guidance directly to clients

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 7 years of litigation experience
• Significant experience in eminent domain and land-use litigation
• Experience representing condemning authorities throughout the condemnation process
• Strong background in complex commercial litigation
• Ability to independently manage high-stakes matters and client relationships
• Excellent analytical, strategic, and advocacy skills
