JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Crown Point, Indiana Facility: Franciscan Health Crown Point Health System: SCP Health - Locums Coverage Period: Sep 24, 2026 - Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mix of days, nights, and weekends Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 90 patients per day Case Mix: Moderate-to-high acuity FACILITY INFORMATION Specialty Backup Available: Yes, reliable specialty consultation Support Staff Available: APPs, MD/DO, NP/PA PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Moderate Sedation JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABMS/AOA) Licenses: Active unrestricted IN Medical License, IN State Controlled Substance, DEA w/ IN address & schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4 DEA / CDS: Active DEA and IN State Controlled Substance required Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS required (ATLS at least once) Experience: Completed EM residency required Other Qualifications: CME Attestation, case logs for past 2 years, malpractice coverage through Coverys DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients of all ages in a moderate-to-high acuity setting. Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers and support staff in a team-based care model. Perform emergency procedures including moderate sedation as required. Work a mix of day, night, and weekend shifts to ensure 38 hours/day MD/DO coverage. Maintain accurate and timely medical records, comply with all licensing and credentialing requirements, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
