Byron Center Symmetry Med Spa Team Lead
Location
Symmetry Med Spa — Byron Center, MI
Position Type
Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To
Lisa, Practice Manager
Our Why
At Symmetry Med Spa by Bengtson Center, our goal is more than just providing exceptional aesthetic treatments. We are creating an experience built around relationships, trust, personalized care, exceptional outcomes, and an unwavering commitment to our patients.
Every detail matters…
From the way a patient is greeted and how well we listen, to the environment we create, the recommendations we make, the follow-up we provide, and the relationships we build over time, every interaction reflects the Bengtson Center and Symmetry Med Spa brand.
The Byron Center Symmetry Med Spa Team Lead is responsible for bringing that experience to life every day.
We are looking for a highly engaged, patient-centric, dynamic leader who understands that exceptional service is not simply responding to what a patient asks for—it is anticipating what they may need, recognizing opportunities to make their experience more personal, and empowering the team to create meaningful moments that build trust and loyalty.
This individual will lead by example, protect our culture and brand standards, develop an exceptional team, and drive the sales and profitability of Symmetry Byron Center, ensuring that the patient remains at the center of every decision.
About Your Role
As the Byron Center Symmetry Med Spa Team Lead, you are responsible for the sales and profitability of the practice , driving revenue growth, service and retail productivity, and overall business performance. You will serve as the on-site leader and steward of the Symmetry patient experience, ensuring that strong business results and an elevated patient experience go hand in hand.
You will lead the day-to-day operations of the Med Spa while ensuring that every patient touchpoint reflects the standards, culture, and elevated experience of the Bengtson Center, and that the business consistently performs against its sales and profitability goals.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role. The Team Lead should be present, engaged, observant, and connected to both patients and team members. You will understand what is happening throughout the practice, recognize opportunities before they become problems, and step in wherever needed to support both the patient experience and the business's performance.
You will partner closely with BCAPS Surgeons, Leadership, Providers, Clinical teams, Operations, People/HR, Marketing, Finance, and enterprise partners. You will lead the Byron Center location while working collaboratively with these functional teams, bringing valuable local insight and supporting successful execution within their respective areas of expertise.
Success in this role is measured first by the sales and profitability you drive for Byron Center, and further by how patients feel when they are with us, how consistently our team represents our brand, how effectively our people are developed, and how successfully we create patients for life.
What You'll Do
Drive Sales & Profitability
• Own the sales and profitability of the Byron Center location, driving revenue growth, service and retail productivity, and overall practice performance.
• Build a culture focused on relationships rather than transactions, understanding that strong relationships are what drive sustainable sales results.
• Lead grassroots marketing efforts at the local level, including community events, local business partnerships, lunch and learns, and hands-on outreach that build visibility and drive new patient growth.
• Partner with providers and the team to ensure patients understand the breadth of services, products, technology, and expertise available through Symmetry and the Bengtson Center.
• Drive patient retention, rebooking, referrals, treatment-plan continuity, retail engagement, membership opportunities, and long-term patient relationships as core levers of practice revenue.
• Partner closely with BCAPS and UAA Marketing to support Byron Center's growth, patient acquisition, and retention strategies by providing local business and patient insights, identifying market opportunities, and supporting the successful on-site execution of Marketing-led promotions, events, launches, and patient engagement initiatives.
• Develop meaningful relationships with local businesses and community partners that align with the Symmetry brand, in coordination with Marketing when those relationships include promotional, brand, sponsorship, or external marketing opportunities.
• Identify local opportunities to introduce new patients to the practice and strengthen relationships with existing patients, sharing those insights with Marketing and appropriate BCAPS/UAA partners to inform strategy.
• Maintain visibility into practice performance and partner with BCAPS and UAA functional leaders to use appropriate KPIs, patient feedback, provider utilization, and operational insights to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Remain knowledgeable about aesthetic industry trends and innovations and share relevant opportunities with the appropriate clinical, Marketing, operational, and leadership teams for evaluation.
• Provide local market, patient, team, and operational insights to help inform long-term goals and business strategies for Byron Center, while partnering with BCAPS and UAA leadership on broader strategic decisions and implementation.
Own the Patient Experience
• Serve as the on-site champion of the Symmetry patient experience and ensure our brand standards are consistently demonstrated throughout the practice.
• View the Med Spa through the eyes of the patient—from their first interaction with us through arrival, consultation, treatment, checkout, follow-up, and their next visit.
• Create a culture in which patients feel genuinely welcomed, known, valued, and cared for.
• Encourage the team to anticipate both expressed and unexpressed patient needs and look for thoughtful opportunities to personalize the experience.
• Be highly visible and available to patients throughout the day rather than managing solely from behind the scenes.
• Know our patients, listen to their feedback, and continually look for opportunities to improve their experience.
• Take ownership of patient concerns and ensure they are addressed promptly and thoughtfully, partnering with or escalating to the appropriate clinical, operational, or leadership team when needed.
• Identify opportunities to create unexpected moments of care and hospitality that differentiate the Symmetry experience.
• Ensure that every patient leaves feeling confident in their care, appreciated by our team, and excited to return.
• Learn the complete surgical and non-surgical Aesthetic Lexicon-Language.
• Visit and meet local businesses including salons, to engage and grow our business with mutual lunch and learns and events.
Protect and Elevate the Brand
• Serve as a brand steward for Symmetry Med Spa by Bengtson Center, ensuring that the environment, team presentation, communication, service, and patient experience consistently reflect our brand.
• Model the professionalism, warmth, language, appearance, attention to detail, and service standards expected throughout the practice.
• Maintain an elevated, welcoming, organized, and impeccably presented environment.
• Ensure that the physical space, treatment rooms, retail areas, patient amenities, music, scent, cleanliness, signage, and other environmental details consistently support the Symmetry experience.
• Coach the team in how to communicate with patients in a way that is warm, knowledgeable, authentic, and consistent with our brand.
• Recognize when an experience does not meet our standards and take ownership of coordinating the appropriate path to resolution.
Lead and Develop an Exceptional Team
• Lead by example and create a culture of positivity, accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and exceptional service.
• Partner with BCAPS Operations and People/HR leadership in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, developing, and supporting Med Spa team members.
• Clearly communicate expectations and provide ongoing coaching and real-time feedback within the scope of the Team Lead role.
• Hold regular team touchpoints to align on patient needs, daily priorities, business goals, upcoming events, promotions, and opportunities to elevate the patient experience.
• Recognize and celebrate team members who demonstrate exceptional patient care, teamwork, initiative, and brand leadership.
• Empower team members to solve problems and make thoughtful decisions that support the patient experience within established practice guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for continued clinical, product, service, hospitality, and leadership education, partnering with the appropriate clinical and functional leaders to coordinate education and development.
• Foster an environment in which team members feel valued, supported, accountable, and proud to represent Symmetry and the Bengtson Center.
• Address performance or behavioral concerns promptly and consistently in partnership with appropriate BCAPS Operations and People/HR leadership.
Lead Daily Med Spa Operations
• Oversee the daily operations of Symmetry Byron Center to ensure the practice runs efficiently, safely, and seamlessly.
• Coordinate staffing and scheduling to appropriately support patient demand, provider productivity, and the patient experience.
• Maintain awareness of the day's patient schedule and proactively identify opportunities, special circumstances, or potential service challenges.
• Ensure appropriate inventory levels for professional products, retail products, medical supplies, patient amenities, and operational needs.
• Maintain appropriate oversight of equipment, facilities, treatment spaces, and operational resources.
• Ensure adherence to applicable health, safety, privacy, cleanliness, and regulatory standards in partnership with appropriate clinical and operational leadership.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and partner with BCAPS and UAA functional leadership to develop solutions that improve both the patient and team experience.
• Support the Practice Manager on projects and initiatives at the main campus as needed, in addition to leading day-to-day operations at Byron Center.
How You Will Lead
Our Team Lead should consistently demonstrate the following leadership behaviors:
Drive the Business
You understand that you own the sales and profitability of Byron Center. You consistently look for ways to grow revenue, deepen patient relationships, and strengthen the business, and you hold yourself accountable to results.
Patient First
The patient experience is at the center of our decisions. You consistently ask, “What is best for the patient, and how can we make this experience even better?”
Lead From the Floor
You are present, approachable, observant, and engaged. You know your patients, your team, and what is happening within the practice.
Own the Path to Resolution
If you see an opportunity or a problem, you take responsibility for moving it forward. You solve what falls within your role and engage the appropriate functional or leadership partner when additional expertise or authority is needed.
Anticipate, Don't Just React
You notice details, recognize patterns, and think ahead so that patient and team needs can be addressed before they become issues.
Protect the Brand
You understand that every detail communicates who we are—from the cleanliness of a treatment room to the language used with a patient.
Develop People
You coach, encourage, recognize, and hold people accountable within the established leadership structure. Exceptional patient experiences begin with an exceptional team.
Create Patients for Life
You understand that our goal is not simply today's treatment or transaction. It is earning the patient's trust and building a relationship that lasts.
Collaborate Across Functions
You understand that exceptional location leadership requires strong partnership. You bring Byron Center's local needs, opportunities, and insights forward while respecting the expertise and responsibilities of BCAPS and UAA functional teams.
Our Guiding Principles
• We help people move through their world confidently.
• We always do what's right to deliver great outcomes.
• We grow intentionally.
• We assume the best of each other.
• We bring our best—and we bring it with heart.
What You'll Need to Be Successful
Education
• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, healthcare administration, marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent leadership experience will also be considered.
Experience
• Five or more years of leadership experience within medical aesthetics, luxury hospitality, plastic surgery, wellness, retail, or another highly service-oriented, sales-driven environment preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Demonstrated experience owning or directly contributing to sales, revenue, or profitability goals in a service-based business.
• Experience within medical aesthetics and knowledge of aesthetic treatments, skincare, injectables, lasers, devices, and wellness services strongly preferred.
• Experience working within a luxury hospitality or elevated service environment is highly valued.
Operational Expertise
• Strong organizational, operational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in scheduling, inventory management, vendor coordination, and day-to-day clinic workflows.
• Experience with EMR systems and aesthetic practice management software.
Financial Acumen

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, polished, professional, and solutions-focused when navigating patient or team concerns.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Highly attentive to detail with the ability to recognize when an experience or environment does not meet established standards.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable state healthcare regulations.
• Commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.
Customer Service Orientation
• Exceptional patient/customer service instincts with a genuine passion for caring for people.
• Deep commitment to patient satisfaction, retention, and overall experience in alignment with the Symmetry brand.
The Leader We're Looking For
You may be the right fit if you naturally notice the details others miss.
You remember a patient's name. You recognize when someone seems uncertain and take the time to help. You notice when the lobby doesn't feel quite right, when a team member needs support, or when there is an opportunity to make someone's experience more personal—or to turn that moment into a sale that serves the patient well.
You believe exceptional service should feel genuine rather than scripted.
You understand that luxury is not simply a beautiful environment or premium technology. It is how someone feels while they are in our care—and that a well-run, profitable business is what allows us to keep delivering that experience.
You lead with warmth and confidence, expect excellence, take ownership, and inspire others to do the same.
You are a collaborative leader who understands that leading a location does not mean operating in isolation. You know when to make a decision, when to bring forward an opportunity, and when to engage the expertise of your functional partners.
Most importantly, you believe that exceptional results and exceptional experiences belong together—and you want to help us create both, every day.
