CNC 5 Axis Machinist III (Large Parts)

Key Responsibilities Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machining centers, including large bridge mills and horizontal machining centers Machine large, complex components (up to 100"+) to tight tolerances Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and CAD/CAM programs Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools Adjust offsets, tooling, and programs to maintain part quality Collaborate with programmers and engineers to optimize machining processes Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Document production activity and quality checks per company standards Qualifications 5+ years of CNC machining experience (5-axis required) Experience with large-format machines (bridge mills, gantry mills, or large HMCs) Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading Familiarity with aerospace/defense quality standards (AS9100 experience a plus) Ability to work with tight tolerances and complex geometries Experience machining exotic alloys (Inconel, titanium, stainless) preferred Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR compliant) Preferred Experience Experience with machines such as OKK, Doosan, Awea, or similar Exposure to 5-axis simultaneous machining Knowledge of tooling strategies for large part machining Experience in prototype and low-volume production environments Physical & Mental Demands The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Regular standing, bending, and manual assembly work. Work performed in a clean, organized, controlled manufacturing setting.
