Patient Access Representative

Location: The Woodlands, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $16.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to support a leading healthcare organization in The Woodlands, TX . This role is ideal for an experienced healthcare professional who excels in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring an efficient patient experience.

Responsibilities

• 2 years Schedule patient appointments while ensuring medical necessity compliance

• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and referrals prior to appointments

• Obtain authorizations and ensure all required documentation is complete

• Register patients and accurately update demographic and insurance information

• Collect and post patient payments in accordance with organizational policies

• Answer patient inquiries regarding appointments, insurance coverage, and registration requirements

• Coordinate with clinical staff, providers, and insurance companies to facilitate timely patient care

• Maintain accurate electronic medical records while ensuring HIPAA compliance

• Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers

• Perform additional administrative and patient access duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Previous Patient Access, Medical Reception, or Healthcare Registration experience preferred

• Experience with insurance verification and referral processing required

• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare registration processes preferred

• Strong computer and data entry skills

• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
