UAV Systems Specialist III

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. Under general supervision with limited review, this positionis responsible forresearching, analyzing,developingand documenting detailed requirements for operator, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures, checklists, technical specifications, alert bulletins, training materials and other procedures and reports. Theperson selectedwill review document specifications with customers to ensure final documents clearly and effectively communicate technical information and data. They will review product systems, functionalspecificationsand operations, andestablishsafety requirements for assigned systems.The person selected for this role will investigate and analyze project requirements and operatingissues,anddeveloprecommendationsto meet company governmental safety and performance standards. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES: Researches, analyzes, develops, and documents detailed requirements or operator, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures, checklists, technical specifications, alert bulletins, training materials and other procedures and reports. Reads,interpretsand analyzes engineering source material such as engineering drawings, software documents, test plans, design specifications/documents, and interviews with technical experts Analyzes and recommends safety criteria in system procedures and design to control oreliminatehazards. Developssafety procedures asnecessaryto support customer and test/operational requirements. Investigates and resolves problem areas andparticipateswith engineering,operationsand maintenance personnel to document technical solutions. Participates in the evaluation,selection, application, and/or adaptation of engineering modifications May serve as the primary contact on contracts and programs. Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Responsible forobservingall laws,regulationsand other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe mannerin accordance withestablished operating practices and procedures. Other duties as assigned ornecessary. Job Qualifications Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree and five or more years of professional engineering/military technical and/or documentation experience. Equivalent professional engineering/military technical, operations and/or maintenance experience may be substituted in lieu of education/training. Must have formal training in one or more safety disciplines: Aeronautical Decision Making; Crew Resource Management; Human Factors. Must havepreviousoperational experience as aircrew (pilot preferred) flying theMQ-9aircraft. Mustdemonstratea comprehensive technical understanding ofaircraftsystems Mustpossess: Ability to develop,acquire, interpret,and communicate technical data; Ability to understand new concepts and apply them in an evolving environment; Strong organization skills; Ability toidentifyissues and develop solutions to technical problems; Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately analyze, document, present and report recommendations; Strong knowledge of computer operations and applications; Ability to work both independently andwithin a team; Ability to work extended hours andtravelasnecessary. Ability to obtain andmaintainDoD security clearanceis required. Preferredexperience as a technical writer or other technical documentation field or equivalent.
