Senior Accountant

Sports Facilities Management, LLC is looking for a Senior Accountant for their Clearwater, FL location. This full-time (exempt) position reports to the Finance Director and is part of the MMTH Fieldhouse department.

It is managed by Sports Facilities Management, LLC, a Sports Facilities Companies (SFC) company, which is the nation's leader in sports, recreation, wellness, and event facility management and development.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for various tasks, including bookkeeping functions related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Accounting. This role requires tact, diplomacy, and a professional approach to the job. Confidentiality is critical. To excel in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles. As an organized professional with keen attention to detail, you should be dependable and capable of working independently and collaboratively and providing thought leadership.

Essential duties and responsibilities include billing/invoicing/collection for multiple clients, understanding of revenue recognition according to GAAP, reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts, experience maintaining general ledger accounts including posting of journal entries, experience with month end closing procedures, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and legal compliance of accounting records, analyzing financial performance and recommending ways to reduce costs and enhance revenues, preparing documentation for external auditors, general ledger coding credit card statement(s) according to policy and procedure and importing data into general ledger, oversight and approval of travel expense submissions for reimbursement, and various other accounting projects as directed by Controller.

Minimum qualifications include an associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent business experience preferred as well as knowledge of accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), minimum of three (3) years of experience including general accounting, accounts receivables and payables, and month-end close, Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience (preferred), proficient with MS Office, intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, must be extremely organized and detailed oriented, ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism, ability to operate a calculator, computer, and other general office equipment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, must be self-starting, energetic, and focused, and solid accounting experience combined with strong analytical skills.

Working conditions include a fast-paced work environment, ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds infrequently, and work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Travel demands include overnight travel to venue(s) as needed.
