MEP Superintendent

Job Description

Job Description

***Project is in Boise, ID

**Position offers Per Diem

We are seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to lead field execution and coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems on a large-scale semiconductor construction project. This role requires proven experience managing complex, high-tech construction environments, with a strong understanding of mission-critical infrastructure, trade coordination, installation sequencing, quality control, and commissioning.

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on field leadership background overseeing multiple subcontractors and craft teams, ensuring all MEP systems are installed safely, meet design specifications, and align with project schedules. Experience in semiconductor facilities, data centers, advanced manufacturing, or other mission-critical environments is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes from mobilization and installation through startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover.
• Direct and coordinate MEP subcontractors, foremen, and craft personnel to maintain productivity, quality, safety, and schedule commitments.
• Coordinate installation sequencing, work areas, equipment setting, material deliveries, and manpower requirements across multiple trades.
• Oversee installation of mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, process piping, plumbing, electrical distribution, power systems, and associated building infrastructure.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, general contractors, vendors, and commissioning teams to resolve design conflicts, field issues, and constructability challenges.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and installation plans to identify potential conflicts and maintain alignment with project requirements.
• Manage MEP work-in-place progress, short-interval schedules, look-ahead planning, and critical-path activities to prevent delays and trade stacking.
• Enforce project safety requirements, quality standards, inspection procedures, and applicable codes throughout all phases of construction.
• Monitor installation quality and ensure deficiencies, punch-list items, and rework are addressed promptly.
• Coordinate equipment startup, system testing, pre-functional checks, functional performance testing, commissioning, and final turnover documentation.
• Maintain daily field reports, track manpower and production, communicate schedule risks, and provide regular progress updates to project leadership.
• Ensure MEP installations meet the demanding reliability, cleanliness, environmental, and operational requirements of semiconductor manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as an MEP Superintendent or Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Superintendent on large-scale commercial, industrial, semiconductor, or mission-critical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of MEP construction means and methods, installation sequencing, trade coordination, and field execution.
• Experience overseeing multiple subcontractors and coordinating complex, overlapping construction activities.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, equipment layouts, installation details, and project schedules.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, process piping, electrical distribution, plumbing, and associated building infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating inspections, system testing, startup, commissioning, and project turnover.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify field conflicts, anticipate schedule impacts, and drive timely resolution.
• Commitment to jobsite safety, quality assurance, and construction productivity.

Preferred Experience

• Semiconductor fabrication facilities, advanced manufacturing, data centers, or other mission-critical construction projects.
• Cleanroom environments and specialized facility systems.
• Process utility piping, specialty gas and chemical delivery systems, high-purity water, exhaust, and other semiconductor-specific utilities.
• Electrical distribution, switchgear, transformers, emergency power, and critical power infrastructure.
• HVAC, chilled water, cooling systems, and complex mechanical equipment installations.
• MEP commissioning, integrated systems testing, and turnover in facilities with strict operational requirements.
