Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aveva PI System Engineer with strong expertise in Aveva PI System installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance. The ideal candidate should be proficient in managing PI System components including PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework (AF), PI Vision, and PI Interfaces.

The candidate should have strong experience in upgrading and migrating PI System versions to the latest releases, configuring PI OPC Interfaces with failover, and designing PI buffer subsystems. The candidate should also be familiar with PI Web API administration, PI DataLink, ProcessBook, and Vision page development and support.

The role requires the ability to customize applications using PI SDK and PI AF SDK, along with a strong understanding of relational databases including MS SQL Server and Oracle. Knowledge of PI security, AF security, and Vision security configurations is required, along with exposure to integrating PI System with third-party systems and databases.

The candidate should have an understanding of web application development principles and web services, be capable of writing advanced queries and optimizing database performance, and have experience creating and maintaining SOPs and technical configuration documentation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.

Required Skills

The candidate should have hands-on expertise in Aveva PI System installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance, including PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework (AF), PI Vision, and PI Interfaces.

Experience with PI System upgrades and migrations, PI OPC Interfaces with failover, PI buffer subsystem design, PI Web API administration, PI DataLink, PI ProcessBook, and PI Vision development and support is required.

The candidate should have experience customizing applications using PI SDK and PI AF SDK and should possess strong knowledge of MS SQL Server and Oracle databases. Knowledge of PI security, AF security, and Vision security configurations is required.

Experience integrating PI System with third-party systems and databases, along with knowledge of web application development principles and web services, is required. The candidate should be capable of writing advanced queries, optimizing database performance, and creating and updating SOPs and technical configuration documents.

Mandatory Skills

The candidate must have strong hands-on experience with Aveva PI System .

Preferred Skills

Experience with PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Vision, PI Interfaces, PI OPC Interfaces, PI Web API, PI DataLink, PI ProcessBook, PI SDK, PI AF SDK, MS SQL Server, Oracle, PI security, AF security, Vision security, web services, database integration, and third-party system integration will be preferred.

Experience with system upgrades and migrations, failover configurations, buffer subsystem design, database performance optimization, system integration testing, unit testing, and technical documentation will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

The candidate will lead the installation, configuration, and administration of Aveva PI System components and will plan and execute migration and upgrade activities for the PI System suite.

The candidate will configure and maintain OPC servers, PI Web API services, and PI OLEDB Enterprise APIs and will develop and support PI Vision pages and PI ProcessBook displays.

The candidate will provide consulting services for application health checks and refinery model upkeep and will integrate PI System with databases and third-party applications.

The candidate will monitor and manage interdependencies between application implementation activities and establish and manage post-go-live support activities.

The candidate will create and maintain standard operating procedures and support documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth system operations.

The candidate will ensure compliance with security standards and best practices within the PI System and participate in system integration testing and unit testing.

The candidate will mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
