Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant - Confidential Family Office Position Summary The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and support the day-to-day accounting operations of a small family office with multiple entities. The portfolio includes a family partnership with non-operated oil and gas properties, mineral interests, and royalty assets. Key Responsibilities Record and reconcile monthly working interest and royalty revenue received from operators and purchasers. Review revenue statements and owner reports to ensure accuracy and completeness. Investigate and resolve revenue discrepancies. Prepare and review Joint Interest Billing (JIB) statements for non-operated properties. Analyze and reconcile monthly JIB activity. Process and review vendor payables to ensure timely payment and compliance with company policies. Perform monthly bank reconciliations. Review financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation. Prepare and post monthly journal entries. Perform account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Assist with reconciliation of general ledger accounts and investigate variances. Coordinate with external tax professionals to support quarterly and annual tax preparation. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience Five or more years of accounting experience in the oil and gas industry. Experience with non-operated working interests, mineral interests, and royalty assets preferred. Strong understanding of Joint Interest Billing (JIB) and oil and gas revenue accounting. Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
