Pittsburgh (Swissvale), PA 15218 | $20-$22/hour | Full-Time

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join a community health center in Swissvale, PA . This is a great opportunity for a patient-focused healthcare professional who enjoys working in a primary care environment and providing hands-on clinical support.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively with patients.

What You'll Do

• Obtain and document patient vital signs and assist providers with clinical procedures.
• Provide patient education and perform telephone triage as needed.
• Perform a variety of in-office diagnostic tests, including:
• Urine pregnancy tests
• Urine dips
• Rapid strep testing
• Fecal occult blood testing
• HIV screening
• Lead testing
• Administer immunizations and injections safely and accurately.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) .
• Manage Vaccines for Children (VFC) documentation through PA-SIIS.
• Monitor and document vaccine refrigerator temperatures twice daily .
• Collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator and VFC offices to ensure proper vaccine program compliance.
• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and maintain clean, organized exam rooms and work areas.
• Assist with quality assurance, quality control, and clinical supply inventory .
• Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, regulatory, accreditation, and clinic policies .

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience performing basic clinical duties, including vital signs, injections, and in-office diagnostic testing .
• Strong computer skills and experience working with electronic health records (EHRs) .
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and general clinical safety standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable performing telephone triage and interacting with a diverse patient population.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established clinical procedures.47

Schedule

• Generally 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
• Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 10:30 AM-7:00 PM
• Full-time schedule
