Accounting Specialist

Location: Hybrid — based out of our Plano, TX office (Dallas/DFW metro). Candidates should be local to the DFW area. Join us in shaping the future of biotechnology. Together, we can change lives. Position: ImmunEdge has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Specialist to join our growing Finance team. This individual will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the accounting function supporting month-end close, accounts payable, and general ledger activities while building a strong foundation across finance operations in a fast-moving, early-stage biotech. Key Responsibilities: Support full-cycle month-end close, including journal entry preparation, accruals, account reconciliations, and flux analysis Assist with recording payroll and lease-related entries Process accounts payable, including reviewing and coding invoices, to help ensure timely, accurate vendor payments Facilitate vendor onboarding and contract and purchase-request intake, routing documents into our contract management system Assist with year-end audit support, including responding to external auditor requests Support employee expense and T&E processing Maintain well-organized, audit-ready records and documentation Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 1–3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus Working knowledge of core accounting principles (US GAAP) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) Comfort with accounting systems and tools; experience with NetSuite is a plus Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills Ability to handle routine work reliably while navigating occasional nuance and ambiguity Good written and verbal communication skills Eagerness to learn and grow in a supportive start-up environment Preferred Qualifications (Plus): Progress toward CPA licensure (parts passed) Public accounting experience Experience in biotech, pharma, or another early-stage/start-up environment NetSuite experience Experience with AI tools (i.e. Claude in Excel) Exposure to AP automation, T&E platforms, forecasting platforms, or contract management systems Expected Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there is sometimes flexibility on job level and responsibilities.
