Registered Nurse Surgery Clinical Coordinator

Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse Surgery Clinical Coordinator to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. As a key clinical leader within our surgical services, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, while providing direct support to surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team. In alignment with our mission to serve community health needs with compassion, you will oversee day-to-day clinical operations in the surgical area, assist in staff assignment and workflow, and help maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practice guidelines. The Registered Nurse Surgery Clinical Coordinator will actively participate in patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care before, during, and after surgery. You will circulate and/or scrub as needed, ensure accurate documentation, support safe anesthesia and recovery room transitions, and advocate for patient safety, comfort, and dignity at every step. You will help mentor and precept new staff, contribute to clinical education, and assist with performance improvement initiatives designed to enhance patient outcomes, efficiency, and patient satisfaction. Collaboration is essential; you will work closely with physicians, fellow nurses, surgical technologists, and ancillary team members to manage complex cases and respond effectively to urgent or emergent situations. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a passion for patient care in a fast-paced environment. While this role is focused in surgical services, experience in emergency or critical care is highly valued, as you may be called on to assist with high‑acuity cases and rapidly changing patient conditions. You will uphold strict infection prevention practices, maintain accurate medication administration practices, and support the safe use of specialized surgical equipment and technology.
