Business Operations Manager

The Business Operations Manager will support the space program located in Moffett Field, CA for the center's occupational safety, health, medical and system safety and mission assurance programs. Leads business operation functions including financial management, security, timekeeping, HR, accounts payable, procurement and business systems. The position participates closely with company program management, company project leads, corporate office, and has some direct customer interface.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and report program commitments, obligations, expenditures, contract performance, and program status execution to include program milestones, schedule and cost.
• Prepare, monitor, and update program requirements and spend plans.
• Reviews funding modifications to ensure they are accurate and tracked to assigned functional areas and projects.
• Prepare NASA financial reports (monthly and quarterly).
• Analyze contract expenses, identify financial issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Perform financial modeling including revenue, direct labor, and other direct costs.
• Develop task order proposals and modifications.
• Develop estimates for materials, equipment, and services with supporting competitive documentation.
• Initiate purchase requisitions for approved purchases.
• Supports the program manager with special projects.
• Tracks deliverables for the program management office.
• Back-up to the general administrative role for coverage purposes.
• Other duties as assigned.

• This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• This position requires a Public Trust Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of business finance, accounting or a related field.
• Must have 6+ years of recent and related work experience; at least three (3) years of professional experience working within the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process.
• Managing, negotiating and administering federal contracts, and subcontracts for cost, T&M, and FFP type orders.
• Experience in building and working with financial models.
• Excellent decision-making ability, written and interpersonal communication skills and the interpersonal disposition aligned to high frequency interaction.
• Accountability, appreciate teamwork and deadline-driven work schedule.

Desired:

• Experience working as a government contractor or on government contracts.
• Experience using Deltek/Costpoint.

Work Location:

• This position offers a hybrid work schedule; some travel may be required.
• Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.

Background Investigations Required:

• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

• Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.
• Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
• Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
• Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
• Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.

Salary Range:

$140K to $170K, salary will depend on education and experience.
