About the role

NewsBreak is the nation's leading local news app, with one of the largest local audiences in the US. We're building something new on top of it: a lead generation platform for home-services businesses — roofing, HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, cleaning, remodeling.

The product is live, not a deck. An AI agent interviews homeowners on the merchant's behalf, qualifies them (own vs. rent, service area, timing, project scope), and delivers scored leads with contact details attached. Merchants don't operate a tool or buy a retainer — they get leads. We build the merchant's custom intake conversation from their own website, automatically — which means your demo is their own branded lead page, generated live, before the first call ends.

This is a founding GTM role. You'll be one of the first sellers on a new line of business inside a company with real distribution — which means your feedback sets the pricing, the packaging, and the playbook everyone after you runs.

What you'll do

• Own merchant acquisition end-to-end in home services: prospect, pitch, close, onboard. Onboarding is minutes, not weeks — the product does the setup.
• Bring relationships, not just dials. This market is over-cold-called; we're hiring books of business and referral networks, not phone scripts.
• Own the hard conversations. Lead-quality disputes, credits, saves, churn. If you've never had a contractor tell you their leads were junk, this isn't the role.
• Close the loop with product. You'll talk to the team building the agent weekly; what merchants object to becomes what we build next.
• Run pricing and packaging experiments — per-lead, subscription, hybrid. Nothing is sacred yet.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years selling to home-services contractors — lead generation, local digital marketing, or SaaS. Alumni of Angi Leads / HomeAdvisor, Networx, CraftJack, Modernize, eLocal, Service Direct, Thumbtack, Yelp, Scorpion, CAMP Digital, ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro strongly encouraged to apply.
• You've sold recurring $200–$2,000/month spend to owner-operators, mostly by phone, and carried a retention number — not just a bookings number.
• You can walk us through, with specifics, how you handle "your leads are garbage, I want a refund."
• Pipeline discipline and CRM hygiene. Early-stage means your numbers are the numbers.
• Comfortable with ambiguity: territories, pricing, and process are still being written — partly by you.

Nice to have: an active book of contractor relationships · familiarity with Nexstar Network / Service Nation / CertainPath communities · Spanish fluency

The US base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. Pay may vary based on a number of factors including job-related skills, level, experience, geographic location and relevant education or training. At NewsBreak, we design our overall rewards package to attract top talents. Depending on the position, the role may also be eligible for discretionary bonus and options.
