Base pay range $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr Swoon is hiring for our Gas & Energy Utilities client in Houston, TX. This will be a hybrid role with 1x a week onsite. This is a 12-month contract opportunity with benefits — health, dental, & vision (50% of premium covered for contractor). Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and Excel-savvy Accountant to support daily and monthly financial operations in a high-volume environment. Responsibilities include reconciling cash transactions, identifying exceptions, and contributing to accurate month-end reporting. Candidates should have strong analytical skills, experience with journal entries, and a proactive approach to metrics reporting. Key Responsibilities: Reconcile daily cash received from subledger to general ledger Perform bank and cash reconciliations Identify transaction outliers and resolve exceptions using Excel Prepare and book approximately 15 journal entries during month-end close Assist with AR/AP activities as needed Track and report KPIs and operational metrics Support forecasting by analyzing revenue, costs, and obligations trends Report on financial status and provide insights for resource optimization If interested, please apply for more details!
